Burger eateries and American style food has always been popular in London. Burger venues and chains open and close all the time and there are even trends like tower burgers, pulled pork ones and vegan options. But luckily, some restaurants are always there, offering tasty American dining with a steadily good quality and some new additions in their menu every now and then.

This is the case with The Diner Soho, my favourite for a decade now! Year after year and season after season i keep going back and every time i find with relief, a joyful and vivid place with friendly stuff. I love this place, one of the four of The Diner group, because everything tastes like real food, nothing like the flat taste burgers often have. Open all day, with breakfast choices too – pay attention to any-way-you like-them eggs and sweet pancakes – their strong point are the juicy burgers with a big range of extras and sides.

The Diablo burger with their signature sauce along with coleslaw salad and the best ever sweet potato fries, is a meal i could easily have every other day! Portions are large, served in plastic baskets and other classic Americans include a variety of hot dogs, mac n’ cheese and buttermilk fried chicken. There’s a good selection of bottled beers, you should definitely try the ones of Camden Town Brewery. As this place is also a bar you can ask for any cocktail you like and there’s a great selection of hard-shakes and hard-teas too.

At this point i have to share a secret and give you a very special tip: their milkshakes are divine!!! And can you have a milkshake with a burger? Yes, you can! You’ll just have to skip dessert, as along with your shake in a large glass they will also bring you the shaker and that’s as much as having too portions of an extra loaded milkshake. Try the Snickers with peanut butter, Nutella and chocolate ice cream, or ask for my favourite, Vanilla with fresh blueberries. Simply amazing! The retro decoration, the uplifting music and the happy staff are a bonus.
